Ken Markizon serves as the President of KCMI Capital. He has been underwriting, approving and closing small commercial mortgages since 2003. Ken’s favorite part of the job is working with the brokers and small business owners throughout the country. Vice President of Processing Operation
Laura Burke is Vice President of Processing Operations at KCMI. Laura has worked in the commercial mortgage industry for 10 years. Laura’s experience includes originating, processing and closing small balance commercial mortgages. She is an expert at understanding the unique challenges that the small business owner faces. She knows how to listen to your borrower’s story and get their loan closed. Laura and her team will work closely with your borrower to ensure that the entire closing process goes smoothly and quickly.
Director of Sales
Prior to joining KCMI Capital, Jim was the Senior Mortgage Originator for Liberty, SBF based in Center City Philadelphia. Jim’s focus was on CMBS and both full and non-recourse bridge lending with loan sizes from $2MM and up. Prior to Liberty, Jim served as founder and CEO of S2 Commercial Capital, a full service direct lender specializing in bridge and mid-market CRE loans. Jim headed this firm specializing in the commercial real estate transactions that did not fit the criteria of traditional banking. Prior to S2, he was Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Equity One, SBC based in Braintree, MA where he controlled and over saw all aspects of the operation specializing in various transactions such as whole loan sales, bank workout advisory assistance and small balance commercial real estate deals. Jim has close to 20 years experience in the commercial mortgage arena. On a personal note, Jim is married to his wife of 14 years and they have 2 wonderful kids. Jim lives in Rhode Island, is a baseball enthusiast and enjoys running.
Vice President of Underwriting
Mark Barnish is Vice President of Underwriting at KCMI Capital, Inc. Mark enjoys understanding the unique cash flow challenges that the small business owner faces. He knows how to listen to your borrower’s story and evaluate your borrower’s credit-worthiness by looking at the entire picture – not just what the paperwork says. Mark will work closely with your borrower to ensure that KCMI has designed the appropriate loan solutions for all their needs. On a personal note, Mark has 3 wonderful children, enjoys the Jersey Shore in the summer, skiing in the winter, the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, Villanova basketball, good wine, great food, and gardening.
Sales Account Executive
Ryan Boyle is the newest addition to the KCMI team and joins us as a Sales Account Executive. Ryan brings with him 5 years of experience in the commercial mortgage world. Prior to KCMI, Ryan was an account executive at Apex Mortgage where he over saw a variety of broker contacts throughout the country. Ryan’s unique sales approach and personal touch with his broker base makes him a perfect fit for the KCMI team. Ryan is a graduate of Holy Family University with a degree in marketing management.
Vice President Mortgage Operations
Prior to joining KCMI Capital, Don was a Vice President at Firstrust Bank. Don’s focus was business development, specifically commercial loans for small businesses in the greater Philadelphia area. Don brings over 10 years of experience in sales and loan operations to his new role at KCMI Capital, where he will oversee operations, as well as provide support to sales and underwriting. On a personal level, Don is married to his wife of 16 years and lives in the Delaware County, PA area.
Lauren Ford joined the KCMI Capital team in January 2017 as our Administrative Assistant. Lauren’s ability to manage the behind scenes, day to day operations of the company keep the rest of the KCMI team on track. Lauren brings with her 10 years of customer service experience including several years of management oversight. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors whether its hiking, running or relaxing at the beach. She also enjoys attending and supporting the Philadelphia sporting events, being with her son and family as well as getting involved in her community and/or church functions.
